11 Must-Visit 2018 Ski Festivals
Love festivals but hate sleeping in a tent?
Without doubt, ski festivals are the best of both worlds. Ski during the day, and glide straight into a concert after your last run.
For those who can’t wait to trade their muddy wellies for mountains, here are 11 must-visit 2018 ski festivals.
Remember – drinking hits you harder at high altitudes. We consider this more of a challenge than a warning.
11. Zermatt Unplugged, Switzerland (10th – 14th April)
At Zermatt Unplugged, the après-ski never has to end!
For a party that rolls on into the next day, and the one after that, head to Zermatt from the 10th-14th April 2018.
If you love acoustic music, you won’t be disappointed. Remember Norah Jones? She’s still around, and will be at Zermatt Unplugged.
It’s a sure win-win for anyone who wants to keep the frenzy, but lose the overpowering baselines.
10. Rise, France (Date TBC)
Fancy surrounding yourself with fans of Craig David and Bicep?
The date is yet to be announced, but December 2018 will be an exciting month for festival-lovers.
Les Deux Alpes is a huge name in the world of skiing. So, naturally, the resort knows how to put on a festival. The party never stops!
9. Top of the Mountain, Austria (30th April)
This one isn’t technically a festival, but we won’t tell if you don’t.
Every year, Ischgl is home to three concerts, at the beginning, middle and end of the season.
This year, Max Giesinger will be performing at the Easter concert on April 1st 2018. We’re not too sure who he is either. But, a concert’s a concert.
Want to close the ski season in style? Head to Ischgl on the 30th April 2018.
Top of the Mountain promises high-altitude drinking. So, we’re confident this won’t disappoint.
8. Musilac, France (19th – 21st April)
Are you a fan of pop and rock music?
Are you a fan of neither but love letting your hair down?
There’ll be something for you at Musilac in Chamonix! This festival is so popular it runs twice a year. This means it must be good, right?
If you don’t want to compromise your slope-time, Musilac is ideal. You paid for a skiing holiday, and Chamonix will ensure a skiing holiday is what you get.
For those who are here for the party, you’ll be entertained by the likes of Rag n’ Bone Man.
7. Rave on Snow, Austria (13th – 16th December)
We’re hoping this one does what it says on the tin.
Raving on the snow is a personal hobby of any skier who knows how to let their hair down!
From the 13-16th of December 2018 in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, this festival will bring techno to the mountains.
See Saalbach-Hinterglemm like you’ve never seen it before! The log cabins will become rave caves and the streets will become bars.
Added bonus? Saalbach-Hinterglemm is famous for its rowdy après-ski. Imagine what it will be like during Rave on Snow…
6. Caprices, Switzerland (12th – 15th April)
If you’re looking for a less well-known festival, Caprices is ideal. Swap your tent for an electronic musical delight up a mountain!
Running from the 12th-15th April 2018 in Crans-Montana, Caprices will be home to some tech and house heavyweights.
It’s the ideal festival for those who want to stay ‘off the beaten track’.
Don’t be mistaken – this festival will still be full of alcohol-fuelled anarchy, but on a smaller scale.

5. Polaris, Switzerland (December 2018)
This festival doesn’t yet have a date. Don’t let that put you off!
All we know is it will be in December 2018, in Verbier, Switzerland. It’s hugely popular among techno fans, or so we’ve heard.
The perk? Polaris will take place 2,200m up. Get ready for the ultimate high-altitude drinking experience!
4. Snowboxx, France (17th – 24th March 2018)
Proudly calling itself ‘the most iconic snow festival in Europe’, Snowboxx has sold out for 5 years in a row. Pretty impressive.
Held in Avoriaz, this festival should have something to please every member of your group. Comedy gigs? Clubbing? Ice-cold beer? It’s all covered.
Fancy getting off a ski lift and heading straight to a Chase & Status set? Well, you can, from the 17th-24th March 2018.
3. Live in Tignes, France (17th – 19th April)
Surprisingly, Live in Tignes is held in Tignes, France. Clue’s in the name with that one.
What you won’t know from the name though, is at this festival the concerts are free. We’ll repeat that: completely free! This is great news for any ski bums among us!
So, if you’re on a budget (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) Live in Tignes is the festival for you.
Held from the 17th-19th April 2018, it’s three days of fun even the cheapskates in your friendship group will enjoy.
The catch? You might not know many of the people performing. But for a free gig, it’s a small price to pay.
2. Rock the Pistes, Les Portes Du Soleil (18th – 24th March)
It’s a well-known fact that après-ski is the best part of the day.
If you’re anything like us, you plan your holiday around which resort is the booziest.
Rock the Pistes is the ultimate ski festival. Running from the 18th-24th March 2018 with no day for recovery, it’s sure to be a memorable experience to say the least.
The festival takes place across the entire Portes du Soleil ski area, which is so huge it spreads into both France and Switzerland. For those who haven’t caught up, this means more places to drink!
Also, the festival is home to more than 50 après-ski concerts. So, it’s safe to say you won’t be disappointed here. If you are, there’s no hope for you.
1. Snowbombing, Austria (9th – 14th April)
First things first, we love the name. We just had to put that out there. It makes us think of Jägerbombs – enough said.
Aside from the name, this festival is guaranteed to impress.
With live music, DJs and street festivals, you’re in danger of having too much to do. There’s even a fancy-dress party! Oh, and Big Narstie will be there.
Think of this one as the Glastonbury of Austria.
It’s running from the 9th-14th April, in case you’re wondering when to book off work.
